Applied Science (Animal Biology), BAS

The BAS program with a concentration in animal biology provides a direct pathway from an AAS degree to a Bachelor of Applied Science degree for students who want to prepare for careers in management, scientific and medical fields relevant to animals. Students learn the underlying principles of animal health --- grounded in knowledge of cells, biological systems and behavior --- in order to solve problems in animal health and care. The curriculum emphasizes a solid foundation in biology, animal science and mathematics while offering specialized courses and opportunities for placement in internships in the field. Students have access to a variety of career resources and opportunities to explore professions and engage with established professionals in a variety of fields.
