Medical Genetics with Research Placement BSc(Hons)

You’ll gain a firm foundational knowledge on the application of genetics to medical and biological sciences research. In addition to learning theory, you’ll gain practical hands-on experience in the labs in our new £18.2 million facilities. Some of the core modules you’ll cover on this course include: Molecular and Cellular Biology Genomes and Evolution Applied Molecular Genetics You’ll also be gaining real-world experience by participating in a compulsory and supervised research placement in your area of interest, available after your second year, allowing you to put your skills to the test at sites in the UK or abroad. This course has advanced accreditation by the Royal Society of Biology, reflecting the compulsory placement year in research and allowing you to apply for associate membership upon completion and opening the door networking opportunities.
