About the Course
This course is accredited by the Royal Geographical Society and is reviewed on a regular basis. When studying this course, you’ll become eligible for membership in the Royal Geographical Society, giving you access to valuable resources, events, and networking opportunities. Teaching staff at the University of Huddersfield also rank in the top three in England for the proportion who hold doctorates (HESA 2022) and have expertise in a range of geography subject areas. Away from campus, you’ll gain relevant real-world experience. In the third year of the course, you’ll put your knowledge and skills to the test in an optional work placement in your area of interest. In the final year you’ll have the chance to develop and enhance your independent research skills as part of the geographical research project module. Learning through doing is important for any geographer in training, so look forward to field trips and fieldwork throughout the course. You’ll have the option to participate in fieldwork day trips in and around Yorkshire, as well as to other parts of the UK and overseas.
