Sustainable Supply Chain Management (Professional Practice) MSc

This course is specifically aimed at International students, supporting those wishing to gain practical work based experiential learning. Together with studying your chosen course we are offering an additional 6-month placement opportunity, making the course 18 months in length. This allows students to put into practice the skills and techniques developed throughout the Master’s degree within a UK environment after completing the 12-month taught programme. The world is becoming a turbulent place with humanitarian and environmental challenges being at the forefront. Sustainability should be part of every business model. This course provides the essential framework, concepts and toolkit required for the strategic management of sustainable logistics and the supply chain. The effective and efficient management of the Supply Chains has been recognised as key to achieving a competitive advantage. A supply chain is described as the flow of products or services from their point of origin through to the final point of sale or use. Logistics seeks to optimise these flows, from both a physical and information standpoint. You’ll have the opportunity to study the challenges of achieving clean growth through circular economy thinking and the responsible management of resources and waste minimization. The pursuit of sustainability will be explored using theory and practice-based frameworks related to business responsibility, corporate sustainability and sustainable development, and students will be introduced to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and will examine how businesses can collaborate to achieve them.
