at University of Surrey

About the Course

Our Law and Technology Pathway will enable you to understand rapidly changing technological developments and market conditions around the world, while drawing on your legal knowledge and analytical skills to solve complex problems. You’ll gain a deep understanding of the main areas of legal knowledge, including law as it: regulates the functions of the state (public law and criminal law) regulates relations between private individuals (contract law and tort law), and regulates the ownership and control of land and other property (land law, and equity and trusts). In addition to these core subjects, after the first year you will immerse yourself in the ways that technology is shaping and improving the practice of law, and how the law must evolve to keep pace with technological change. You will learn how to evaluate the law, analyse its application in given situations and apply your legal understanding in a national or international context.
