About the Course

Automation, robotics and Industry 4.0 are become increasingly important across all industries and sectors. Automation and robotics, also referred to as mechatronics, is a broad-based field combining elements of mechanical, electrical and electronic, and software engineering. Developed in consultation with industry, the Bachelor of Automation and Robotics (BAR) will provide you with the breadth required to work in automation and robotics as well as a pathway to develop depth in either mechanical, electrical and electronic, or software engineering. After completing the BAR, you will be able to progress into the accredited Master of Professional Engineering (MPE) to gain further expertise in one of these three core engineering disciplines. The outcomes are a double degree (BAR/MPE) and a skill set that will set you up for a wide range of employment opportunities and your future career. The course has one (double) major: Automation and Robotics. The major has been designed so that it can also be taken within the Bachelor of Philosophy.
